I really spent some time tracing the make release, but couldn't find any wa=
y=20
to modify the compiler flags for the release. Why do I need a=20
populated /usr/obj if it's never touched? I really think I'm missing=20
something. Two years ago I had no problems building specail 4.4-RELEASEs.

Any hint is welcome.
