You'll need to issue a "zpool autoexpand on poolname" command before the extra 
space can be utilised. There's an example at

You'll need to create a small boot partition on each disk and install bootcode 
onto it as described in the first few steps of 
<https://wiki.freebsd.org/RootOnZFS/GPTZFSBoot/Mirror>. Since you already have 
a running system you shouldn't need to boot from the install DVD,
