My opinion is that it should work and people should try it, of course keeping the experimental status of ZFS in 7.0 in mind all the time. > A minor nit that I've just run into is needing to have an > empty /etc/exports file so that mountd starts...any thoughts > on making mountd more intelligent? It's just a matter of improving /etc/rc.d/mountd script, I guess. In my opinion it would be best to start mountd as a dependency if it's not enabled in rc.conf, but there are some ZFS file systems with sharenfs!=3Doff. Then we would start mountd (and other damons needed for NFS export to work) with /etc/zfs/exports file only. --=20 Pawel Jakub Dawidek http://www.wheel.pl pjd@FreeBSD.org http://www.FreeBSD.org FreeBSD committer Am I Evil?
