Using the standard version query syntax below.. dig +short @ns1.partnershiphp.org version.bind txt chaos "DNS Server v2090" She seems to have a DNS server that I'm both unfamiliar with and unable to find with a search engine. So, as you say, this is a DNS server question not an OS question.=20 Ola, you must find out which software is being used to provide DNS name service from this machine before proceeding.=20 If 'lsof' is not already installed, as root, install it with pkg_add -rv = http://ftp-archive.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD-Archive/ports/i386/packages-4.1= 1-release/All/lsof-4.73.1.tgz then as root use=20 lsof -i :53 to identify the name service binary and current PID on your machine.
