Please paste output from "grep -i time /var/run/dmesg.boot" on FreeBSD; maybe
also 'sysctl kern.timecounter kern.eventtimer'.

If possible, it would be helpful for you to determine which timer Linux chooses
on this platform (perhaps it is logged in dmesg or discoverable some other
way).
