It wouldn't, given that the alternative (to have your console behaving
like a VT100) is already easy at hand.  No additional process
involved, no port/package to install, just a kernel recompilation.

Right now, it seems the `Grand Unified Console Driver' dream from
almost 6 years ago is about to happen anytime soon...
