I was going to write an FAQ entry on this, once I'd figured out what exactly was goning on. If I were you I'd try replacing my bootblocks: disklabel -B yyyy where yyyy is the disk you boot off, probably something like ad0. As I understand it, static symbols within the kernel are not available unless you boot using a new loader. If you have old boot blocks you may not be using the loader at all. David.
