Hi, For the last few releases the boot messages on one of my machines has contained a zillion of the following; ata0-slave: no status, reselecting device There are so many of them that it overflows the dmesg buffer. I've fiddled with the bios settings but it seems to make no difference. I have an IDE disk on ata0-master, and a cdrom on ata1-master and both work with no problems once the system is up. Carl.
