Just for the sake of paranoia, a further opinion,

$ ls -l /sbin/init
-r-x------  1 root  bin  143360 Jul 27 14:06 /sbin/init

This is on a public box that is reasonably tight. It's also a suggestion
that folks can change file permissions on systems that they control.
