There isn't a version of FreeBSD, but there are other *BSD's that will run on that architechure (sp?). Look into NetBSD (www.netbsd.org) and OpenBSD (www.openbsd.org). Both of those run quite well on older Macs. I have NetBSD on a couple of Macs here.
