Hi, I tried searching the archive of this list before posting but couldn't find any information similar to the problem I'm now facing. I had just installed FreeBSD 4.2 RELEASE on my home PC and had CVSUP'd my ports and then the source for STABLE. Everything seemed to go fine with "make world" and "mergemaster" but when I got to: "make buildkernel KERNCONF=MYKERNEL" It fails with an error that goes something like: "Error line # 65 in config. Devices can't use identity of 0....." I am using a custom kernel, not GENERIC, that I've recompiled a few times before attempting the move to STABLE. I looked at line # 65 of my kernel and also the GENERIC kernel and it's just the "device pcm" line. I don't know how to fix this. Can someone help me?
