But on principle, I have to agree with Simon that we need to distribute the load as much as possible over the geographical mirrors. The only technical solutions that do work that I know of are (expensive) commercial services like Akamai. Of course there are middleways like using top level domains, but they don't really work in practice. So the best solution that I see is for the users themselves to choose a mirror closest to them, and if that's only one click more, that sounds like a good deal to me. -erwin --=20 _._ _,-'""`-._ Erwin Lansing (,-.`._,'( |\`-/| erwin@lansing.dk http://droso.org `-.-' \ )-`( , o o) erwin@FreeBSD.org -bf- `- \`_`"'- --osDK9TLjxFScVI/L Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.6 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFB1ySMqy9aWxUlaZARAnOXAJ48fQ/x/rF7vanvkWWGH0ZQ4/TjFwCg1pkC JsVNV8HYao0pSHDk0F+mT9E= =DYsZ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --osDK9TLjxFScVI/L--
