I posted this about a month ago and I am still having the same problem.

My SMC9432 ethernet card gives me these errors at boot up and when i type
ifconfig tx0 up.

May 25 11:41:37 /kernel: tx0: device timeout 1 packets
May 25 11:41:37 /kernel: tx0: can't stop TX DMA

This will go as high as 16 packets and then the ethernet card would fail.
It runs fine on 10Mbps though.
