Hi, On Fri, Feb 22, 2002 at 03:19:32PM -0000, Rui Fragoso wrote: > I would like to help translating the documentation (on my very rare free time) to portuguese, or join a similar project going on, if i may. I am assembling a small group of people in my area to translate FreeBSD documentation to Brazilian Portuguese. http://www.freebsd.org/docproj/translations.html#brazilian_portuguese As all translators know, translation is a both slow and "painful" effort that ultimetily pays off in the long run. For instance, we do not expect to have a translated Handbook before an year has passed. :( But some day, there WILL be a translated Handbook. Isn't that neat? 8) However, there are many smaller articles that can and should be translated in parallel with the Handbook. From your email address, I take you want to translate to the Portuguese from Portugal variant. Therefore, you probably will not be joining us directly but you could try to benefit from what we have already translated and try to adapt to your variant. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. For starters, you should start by reading - FreeBSD Documentation Project: SGML http://www.freebsd.org/docproj/sgml.html which should give you an idea of where to start.
