Hi everyone, I seem to recall scanning by several emails regarding problems getting FreeBSD to work on IBM ThinkPads. I'm about to purchase a new laptop, and I would like to hear about peoples' experience with ThinkPads and Compaq Armadas, or others if you feel strongly about them :-) In particular, I'm looking at a ThinkPad 560X... For what it is worth, I currently have a Texas Instruments (Acer really) laptop that works fairly well under FreeBSD, with only a couple of annoynaces: (1) there is some BIOS PC Card support called ``CardBus'', that prevents PC Cards from working under FreeBSD when enabled and prevents PC Cards from working under Windows 95 when disabled; (2) I can't seem to figure out how to turn off ``clicking'' on the built-in TouchPad ... very annoying when typing under X ... Thanks for any input! Jacques Vidrine <n@nectar.com> To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
