https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=290549 Bug ID: 290549 Summary: console disappears after entering single-user mode Product: Base System Version: 15.0-CURRENT Hardware: arm64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: bhyve Assignee: virtualization@FreeBSD.org Reporter: dch@freebsd.org ## system EFI boot arm64 VM at netcup.com running either 14.3-RELEASE or 15.0-BETA3 (fresh install) kenv snippets: efi_com_port="0" efi_com_speed="38400" efi_max_resolution="1x1" efi-version="2.70" smbios.bios.vendor="netcup" smbios.bios.version="VPS 1000 ARM G11" smbios.chassis.maker="QEMU" smbios.chassis.version="virt-9.2" smbios.entry_point_type="v3 (64-bit)" smbios.processor.version="virt-9.2" smbios.system.family="v2202501207540307083" smbios.system.maker="netcup" smbios.system.product="KVM Server" ## normal boot - both beastie & loader prompt are visible & usable - a normal boot has the console working all the way through ## single user boot via beastie menu - console startup is fine until switching console - last output is "Dual Console: Video Primary, Serial Secondary" - after that we lose both input and console output - but it still responds to ctrl-alt-delete - and shows "Waiting (max 60 seconds) for system process `vnlru` to stop... done, ditto for syncer, and the final `Syncing disks... ` line ## what we tried - all available combinations of serial/video consoles - loading virtio console drivers prior at loader prompt -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
