I've found that not all SCSI problems go away unless I use BIOS 14.3.

It's probably the BIOS via serial console that's giving you
problems. I experience these BTX halted errors on approximately
25% of the over 50 ISP2150 and L440GX+ mobo machines I administer.
Turn of the BIOS over serial console feature and I've been able
to boot w/o errors.

Others have reported it as well and even filled out a PR
