If you want to use a linux product. That is OK. The linux emulation is more than adequate. Points in favour of FreeBSD. It scales to a server better. It is considerably more secure than any Linux (or can be made so). It's releases of software (packages and ports) is controlled through a central point. Less "buying a pig in a poke". I think reliability is considerably better than most linuxen.
