As far as I  remember, last time this was discussed,  nobody was able to
offer any evidence  of 4:1 actually causing problems --  there were only
anecdotal accounts, just like this time...

I don't mean to  say the problems don't exist (or that  I object to this
particular commit), but wish to point out, that whoever experiences them
should submit  the evidence  neccessary to  fix them.  Or, at  least, to
prove positive they do exist.
