I have the exact same problem and although I don't know why it's happening, perhaps my situation will be able to shed some light. I was feeling adventurous and decided to change my FreeBSD machine to a more powerful one. I put the HD in a brand new machine, with all different hardware expecting it to just barf and I'd have to reinstall, or at least reconfigure. But it worked. Works fine now, but from the first boot it has been giving me that exact error. Jeff To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
