First of all, are you still the maintainer? Second, I've been baffled of late by my Exabyte 8500 SCSI-tapestreamer, which worked under the Operating System from Hell, but not under Linux nor under FreeBSD. It turned out that one of the terminators was installed upside-down. Some note in the handbook that this is possible and not right would be nice, but perhaps a translation about these kernel messages: First of all, are you still the maintainer? It turned out that one of the terminators was installed upside-down. Some note in the handbook that this is possible and not right would be nice (I didn't think terminators even had an up or a down side), but perhaps a translation about these kernel messages would also be nice: Sep 9 12:24:23 myname /kernel: (ncr0:5:0): "EXABYTE EXB-8500SMBANXH1 05E0" type 1 removable SCSI 2 Sep 9 12:25:00 myname /kernel: st0(ncr0:5:0): COMMAND FAILED (9 ff) @f12a4c00. I could find no hint about clearing fifos anyywhere, and I still don't really know what they are. I care a lot less, now that everything works, though! I hope you can do something with this, Jurriaan
