Hi, Bryan, again you're missing the point :-) You're working out from just processing power, in the embedded world you usually start from somewhere else.... In the case of my products, the requirement are small size, low cost, no moving parts (no fans or disks), long life, low power, meaning a power budget of 10W incl everything.... The 133 Mhz 486 processor use <2W and the encryption processor is also <2W. You cannot get any x86 processor that can meet the performance of the encryption processor without needing a fan.... And when you add the cost of all the other parts you need beside your mainboard and 1Ghz processor, it's also more expensive than my solution. But anyway, we can probably agree to disagree, so maybe we should let this tread die....
