Hi there! If u enable syslogd on the new version the default option is -s which means Operate in secure mode and do not log messages from remote machines which is the reason why ur routers logs is not appearing on ur syslog log file. U might want to use the -a option to allow only specific ip address or domain to write to ur syslog servers. Hope that help.
