I think I mentioned this a couple of weeks back, but that may have been on
another list...
An interesting book that addresses these kinds of issues is The UNIX Guide
to Defenestration. The author presents a number of scenarios, ideas, and
cost comparisons that you might find useful. Have a look at the web site at
www.winface.com
The book has a number of typos, but it's actually very well-written and
easy to follow.
If your users don't trust you before you begin, it's not going to work.
