Dear Sirs. Maybe this isn't a recent kind of subject, but I found no posting regarding a problem when building a new world. I freshly installed a system, built a custom kernel, then made a cvsupdate sucking in the newest stuff and then tried to "make buildworld". It failed due an error making lib.perl. I don not have the exact error message, so I have to tell you out of my memory. As I remember myself I think there was a related posting in the past ... sorry, I can not find it.
