freetype2-2.1.2 A free and portable TrueType font rendering engine
That is what I have installed. I looked into that because that seemed like
another "issue" that popped up with this libfreetype.so.6 error

Do you have an up to date version of the freetype port installed?
/usr/ports/print/freetype(2)
