 Workaround: Use polling on the device
 Polling generates quite a bit of load on my machine though :'(
 powerd doesn't switch to 49MHz anymore (min 99MHz),
 top shows > 50% Interrupt continuously.
 On a Dell LS laptop 400MHz P3-M 256MB mem
