Hello all,

I've been wrestling with my nice, shiny new PITA system all week long.
The consensus seems to be that the RAM is suspect. I'm on my second
stick of 512 MB 2700 DDRAM for this thing and this one seems to be worse
than the first one I got. The first one was a Samsung and this one is
some brand I've never heard of (forgot the name, too lazy to crack the
case -again- and look). I have a P-IV 2.40 GHz processor on a VIA P4B
400 Mainboard. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on
what brand is a good one to go along with VIA Mainboards? My Google
searches brought up the possibility that VIA mainboards tend to be
rather picky when it comes to RAM.

Though I'm not sure if RAM is my problem because I'm not getting Sig 11
errors. I keep getting extremely consistent internal compiler errors
pretty much whenever I try to build *anything*. I've tried to
buildkernel about 16 times today and each time I get stuck here (or very
near here):

/usr/src/sys/dev/aic7xxx/aic79xx.c: In function `ahd_run_data_fifo':
/usr/src/sys/dev/aic7xxx/aic79xx.c:787: error: unrecognizable insn:

                        (reg/v:SI 1 edx [361])

                     [

        ]) -1 (insn_list 1422 (nil))

Same spot every time. No matter what I do to the configuration (this
one was attempting to just build GENERIC with no fancy CPU optimizations
and no fancy CFLAGS). It's not just the compiler because I did a fresh
install last week of a Sept. 8th Snapshot of current. I'm also *trying*
to add options DISABLE_PSE and options DISABLE_PG_G to my kernel, but I
can't build a new kernel no matter what I do. I've also fiddled with
*all* of the BIOS settings having to do with RAM and none of them made a
whit of difference.

In case it helps, my dmesg is attached. Any and all suggestions are
welcome and encouraged.

Thanks in advance,
Scott
