He is mistaken. Not about the use of Word, but to think that it actually matters. As Freud is supposed to have said, "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar". Well, sometimes a word processor is just a word processor, and not a political statement. The world is full of people who will read a manuscript, say something dismissive about it being "not bad for a draft", then zero in on the software used to create it.
