I don't know how to explain this, but I swapped a Athlon 750 for an Athlon 1.3 (new motherboard and all). More details to follow, obviously, but syslogd panics the machine. If I put enable_syslogd="NO" in rc.conf, the machine runs normally (even running X and a bunch of applications). Any ideas?
