I've installed 4.0-R via a 3c589C with no problems. I assume 4.1-R would also have no problems. You use the ep driver, and do a pcmcia install. Works fine, but you have to get your pcmcia controller and irqs for the cards done correctly and install with pcmcia. PAO is no longer required for this to work well. -mobile would be a better place to ask about this.
