I have an SMP box that keeps signal 12-ing. So I built a debug kernel
with:
makeoptions DEBUG=-g #Build kernel with gdb(1) debug
symbols
options DDB
#options DDB_UNATTENDED
options KTRACE #kernel tracing
options INVARIANTS
options INVARIANT_SUPPORT
options DIAGNOSTIC
options MAXMEM="(128*1024)" #limit mem usage to accomodate dump
Now when the box faults, I get:
panic: vm_page_unhold: hold count < 0 !!!
mp_lock = 00000001; cpuid = 0 ; 1apic.id = 01000000
and it's waiting at the DDB> prompt.
I type 'panic' to induce the dump at it reports:
device does not support dump routine.
What am I doing wrong here?
except from rc.conf:
dumpdev="/dev/amrd0s1b"
dumpdir="/usr/local/var/adm/crash"
savecore="YES"
# swapinfo
Device 1K-blocks Used Avail Capacity Type
/dev/amrd0s1b 524160 0 524160 0% Interleaved

Thanks in advance.
