I have read as much documentation as I could as far as Freebsd and the x-window-system are concerned. here are the specs on the laptop I desperatly want to install Freebsd on: > > IBM T21. > 2647-8BU > Generic flatpanel LCD monitor 1024 X 768 > 8 MB video memory > Savage IX driver <(BSD detects this) > TFT-active matrix > 14.1 in. > > Please, If someone could just email me a little more information on how to set the specifications for X on my model I would greatly appreciate it. If you would paste the error message that X displays on the standard output when it crashes, it might help us out a bit. To configure X, the tool that works best for me is xf86config, but you might also try xf86cfg or 'X -configure' but YMMV. wrt to your emails, please could you set your editor to wrap at 64 characters. -Ox -- /~\ The ASCII ASCII stupid question, get a EBCDIC ANSI. \ / Ribbon Campaign John Oxley X Against HTML http://oxo.rucus.net/ / \ Email! oxo <at> rucus.ru.ac.za "Personally, I'd rather pay for my freedom than live in a bitmapped, pop-up-happy dungeon like NT." -- Thomas Scoville
