[As is probably well known already among FreeBSD developers] it's better for junior committers (and otherwise newbie committers) to get into the whole userland commit arena. Most of what I see in committer status seems to evolve from userland (optional) to kernel due to the sexiness of kernel work vs userland work. -Garrett
