We have dozens of tasks open at any given time, among them starting
user groups (as you mention below) and pretty much anything involving
improving the SGML docs or writing magazine articles.  Since this is a
volunteer project, it's also always our suggestion that people focus
on whatever tasks they LIKE to do and be pretty much self-driven in
their contribution since it's our experience that people don't last
very long otherwise.  So the real question is: What do you WANT to do?
:) Once you've decided that, by all means simply jump in and start
doing it.  We're not a management body in the sense that we tell
people what to do or grant "permission" for them to make
contributions; they just do that on their own and if people like what
they're doing, it naturally becomes part of the project.
