Hello all; I was wondering if anyone out there can share information about live video streaming technology and FreeBSD. I am looking for both the hardware solutions that are being used, as well as the software solution. Software wise I already know of Realnetworks, and have heard a little bit about Oracle Video Streaming. I was wondering if there exists other solutions, even if not just Fbsd based. Finally those of you out there that do live streaming, This location is going to have 4 to 5 cameras; is it too much to believe that a fairly powerful server could handle that? Or would it be wiser to do something like 2 cameras per server? We initially are looking at about a 100 streams per camera; eventually maybe growing to as many as 500 streams, or even more.
