Those files cannot be the cause of your problem. pxeboot is loaded directly into memory by the NIC boot rom and emulates the boot[12] environment for the loader (/boot/loader), thus it doesn't need to load or use the other bootstrap pieces (boot[012]). Besides, you reported the problem with 4.4-PRERELEASE but the changes to boot[12] have not been MFC'd (yet).
