Hi... Just got a new machine in the office to replace my old 386 machine, and am trying to install current onto it. I started off installing 2.1.0-RELEASE, to give me a base to work from, then installed all the sources for -current except for games. After doing a 'make depend all install' on /usr/src/include, I rebuilt the kernel and installed that. Without any other changes, when I rebooted, I got a kvm() error on ifconfig, which I expected, but it then hung. I rebooted into -RELEASE, and installed a -current ifconfig and rebooted (and libkvm). hung again. If I ctl-c around the hang, everything seems to come up alright, except now I get stale nfs handles, so my nfs mounts don't work. If I boot back into -RELEASE, all is well. -current is that which was sup'd in as of about 6am this morning, so its current. The reason I haven't done a make world yet is due to a recommendation by *someone* awhile back who suggested making sure the kernel works before building everything. It is something, possibly, with some other library that needs to be replaced? Is it a known problem that just popped up, or is it just cause I'm trying to bring it up from RELEASE? Thanks... Marc G.
