The QLogic 1040 is an UltraWide controller (i.e. 20 mega-transfers per
second at 16-bit transfers) -- you *are* getting the proper SCSI speed.
You may be confusing your Qlogic 1040 with the Qlogic 1080 which is an
Ultra2 controller.
