I have my SoundBlaster PCI128 sound card "working" but I'm a bit confused if the driver is in "stable" condition or just experimental. It can make sound if I cat a raw sound file to it but # play mysound.aiff sox: Unable to sync dsp This is sox 12.16. I checked the source and sox assumes the ioctl SNDCTL_DSP_SYNC is implemented but it is not according to the source in "/usr/src/sys/pci/es1370.c". I have seen referenses to "newpcm". Is the sound driver rewritten but not merged to "stable"? I suspect there are some advanced dependensis or could I cvsup the sound system from the "current" branch and the rest of the system from the "stable" branch? If so, what should the cvsup collection file look like? kent To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
