This is the same problem as reported in PR 105514 when booting from the install CDs: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=105514 To get past this problem you need to hold down the space bar as the system boots, then when you see /boot/kernel/kernel on the screen, you can release the space bar. The system will then boot into the sysinstall, and you can then install the OS. Once the OS is installed, the system will boot normally. Scot
