BTW, tried to merge in some of our changes, but gtar has changed much and I noticed that some of our fixed went in. One change I wanted to apply used variables and goto marks that doesn't exist anymore ;-) Would be great if people could try, if it's completely functional, so perhaps it could be merged later into -current's contrib tree for 3.0.
