Personally *I* sort by origin into "mailboxes" (Mac Eudora Pro, shame on
me) then by time and subject within the mailbox. Flash thru the subjects.
Read a few, then sort by author. Almost always read your postings as your
signal-to-noise ratio is greater than most. Sometimes wonder how you have
enough hours in the day to compose all the postings I see from you on the
FreeBSD lists.
