After installing 2.2.2 on a machine, and rebooting several times, I started to notice that /tmp was filling up a little (I only have 64M ea for / and /var), and after examining /etc, found that periodic /tmp cleaning and cleaning on reboot were not present or disabled, apparently due to security concerns. 1. Is it correct to say that no cleaning of /tmp is done by default? 2. Is there a "reasonably secure" method of activating such cleaning? For point 2., what is the original security problem? Is it having special characters in filenames? Would a cleaning script which ignored files which contained whitespace in their names be an improvement? A bug in my MUA causes news.announce.newusers font to be sent to beneficiaries and senders of UCE/SPAM. @ mcs.net Wishes are like dishes.
