It seems to me like the number of impossible-to-read messages has
increased, e.g. MIME-encoded messages for which I don't have an
automatic reader and have to save the messages to disk and use "more" on
them (although I usually just "d" if the subject sounds completely
useless).  In particular, I despise "TEXT/html" encoded messages...
