3.  Is there ODBC/JDBC driver (bridge) support for FreeBSD?  Any pointers
to who might provide it if it exists?

1.  Are you aware whether there a JIT for the FreeBSD Java JDK port?

2.  Have you seen any reasonable (objective) performance comparisons of
FreeBSD verses Linux, etc.?
