After you add a M.2 NGFF SATA SSD, the https://geekworm.com/products/x862
provides you a USB3 external SSD disk for the RPi4B.

The performance will likely depend on the M.2 NGFF SATA SSD that
you add vs. whatever your existing USB3 external SSD disk is based
