Ok, let me quit nipping at the heels of this and say what I want to do. I've got a test machine that has, for various reason, an ATI All-in-wonder in it. It plays back MPEG's and VCDs under windows reasonably well, but the Windows UI for these things suck. They won't let it go full-screen, to start with. I would like for to use this machine as a VCD player, preferably running FreeBSD. If gatos will let me do that, I'd be most happy, as that means the other tasks for this machine can be done on FreeBSD as well. Pointers to instructions for doing so would be most appreciated. If Linux will do it easily, I will install Linux to get it done - in which case I'd appreaciate a recommendation for a Linux distro that already has all the right pieces in it.
