Actually you downgraded to 1.1-final. The new distfile has the same MD5 as before your last upgrade on August 15. Why? And if you had a reason for the downgrade, why didn't you downgrade via PORTEPOCH? And the .placeholder file could have been created with touch or echo.home | help
