I have a few odd problems with ICEWM, just curious to see if anyone else has
encountered them, if there is a fix, or where I should look/ask if this isnt
the best place.
I have a P-II/266, 64 megs ram, 5.7gig eide drive, zip, toshiba cdrom, usr
56k v90, etc etc. the usuals. I am running FreeBSD 2.2.6 on it. I have
previously used qvwm, however grew tired of it. So I tried ICEWM. Overall I
like it the best of the different managers provided with the distribution
CD's.
Ok..now, my problem is this.. Under ICEWM, ICQ is unable to create new
windows for sending/receiving events. They appear for a brief instant, and
disappear as fast as you can blink. It logs events as received even tho I
never get to view them. This only happens in ICEWM btw.. olvwm, fvwm, qvwm
all worked fine.
I looked for any kind of docs, man pages, anything to point to a better
place to check on this..but I could find nothing for ICEWM on my system..not
even an 'about' to indicate who made it and a web site to check.
I also had another question for it..It does not offer 'On top' as an option
for windows..as such any window is pushed behind the active window. This is
rather troublesome for items like ICQ or fxtv. I saw no way to edit the menu
selections for right click on window bars like some of the other managers
had. Is there any way to accomplish this or perhaps a option added at the
command line invoking these programs x will recognize?
Please reply to this email as I am not on the mail list right now. And
thanks in advance to any who help. It is appreciated :)
Steve
